Below are meet times and some tips. Please reach out to your class rep for additional details.

Meet times at the Sweeney Ridge Trail entrance:

8:45am - Fifth grade 

9:00am - Fourth grade 

9:15am - Third Grade 

9:30am - Second Grade 

9:45am - First Grade 

10:00am - Kindergarten and SDC

Other information:

• Hike photos for our yearbook can be submitted here (if you don't have a google account, go here and use access code pandas)

• Please meet your grade at the entrance of Sweeney Ridge Trail entrance at the designated time above.

• Parking near the trailhead might be full, so consider parking at Portola Elementary which is a 10 minute walk (directions) from the Sweeney Ridge Trail entrance. Plan accordingly!

• For students with siblings, feel free to walk with the grade of your choice. 

• Since the hike is taking place on a Saturday, students will need to be accompanied by an adult guardian.

• The hike up will take 45 minutes (1.5 hours roundtrip) for an adult and can be steep in places. It is completely paved and there is a beautiful lookout half way up. If you or your student is tired, consider turning back after stopping at the lookout.

• Bring water, dress in layers, wear comfortable shoes, and wear your mask.

• Wear your Portola Hike-A-Thon shirt or other Portola spirit wear!
